"Indian Camp"
In my opinion, I believe the short Story of "Indian Camp" by Ernest Hemingway is a coming of age story. This showed how a young man had to see for himself what some older men could not handle and he took it very maturely. By definition, the protagonist must either go from being ignorant to knowledgeable, innocent to experienced, or idealist to realistic. Nick, the protagonist in this short story, was very innocent and did not know much about the real world. After being an intern to his father he gained quite a bit of knowledge. He saw labor, an operation, and was with a man a few moments before his death. Even though there was no ceremony or traditional ritual, I think "Indian Story" can be considered a coming of age story.
